Since our first association with Odoo in 2006, Camptocamp has established itself as a leading Gold partner in France and Switzerland, driven by a shared vision of innovation and excellence in enterprise solutions. Our collaboration with Odoo has always been guided by a shared commitment to added value, both for our customers and for Odoo itself. From the outset, we have pushed the product further and further, carrying out large-scale projects, sometimes spanning several years. The complexity and scale of these projects have not only reflected our expertise and ability to create lasting value for our customers, but have also contributed significantly to Odoo's evolution. 

Our commitment to the Odoo community has resulted in significant contributions, ranging from the release of thousands of open source modules to constructive feedback on the product in areas such as logistics, finance, localization, HR, multi-company management and others. Our relevant market feedback, our proposals for improvement and our involvement in the OCA are all initiatives that testify to our desire to build a robust and dynamic Odoo ecosystem, reflecting our deep commitment to the product.

However, over the last few years, we have noticed a growing divergence between our core values and Odoo's partner classification policy, which is resolutely focused on acquiring new users. While we deeply value our partnership with Odoo, our primary mission remains to provide exceptional service to our customers.

Facts and strategic decisions 

In our quest to strengthen our commitment to our customers and the quality of our projects, we have consciously decided on a strategy which, sooner or later, could jeopardize our status as an Odoo partner. As of March 30, 2024, Camptocamp will no longer maintain the conditions of its Odoo Gold Partner status in France.

Here are the facts and strategic decisions that have guided our choices and led to this situation:

  • If growth is positive, sustainability is even more so. We have observed that too rapid an expansion can be detrimental to the quality of our services and the well-being of our teams. That's why we've opted for controlled growth, without excess, with an emphasis on the sustainability of our company. We have therefore set ourselves an annual growth target of 25 to 27%, a deliberate choice that stands out from Odoo's higher growth ambitions, which aim for more than 50 to 70%.
  • Our unwavering commitment to customers. In the face of a classification of Odoo partners resolutely focused on the acquisition of new users, we have chosen to prioritize customer loyalty and satisfaction. This translates into a priority allocation of our resources to migrations, continuous improvements, consulting and support. We have also chosen to support existing projects experiencing difficulties, in order to revitalize them and make a positive contribution to Odoo's reputation, even if this does not contribute positively to our status as a partner.
  • Our passion for ambitious projects. Although the duration of these projects often exceeds 12 months, which does not correspond to the annual criteria for "Odoo Gold Partner" status, we remain determined to pursue this path which encapsulates our expertise. These large-scale initiatives have a significant impact, both for our customers and for the Odoo ecosystem as a whole. The satisfaction and pleasure we derive from completing these ambitious projects is fundamental to us. We are determined to continue on this trajectory, convinced of the importance of our contribution to the success and evolution of our customers through these complex and rewarding projects.

Future prospects

Camptocamp intends to remain a major player among Odoo integrators by developing our services in three main areas:

  • VSE/SME: Innovation and continuous adaptation are at the heart of Camptocamp's strategy, and this is crystallized through the Smartcamp initiative, launched three years ago. Smartcamp delivers our expertise to small businesses, a market segment hitherto little explored by our services. Thanks to a proven methodology based on 15 years' experience on major projects, Smartcamp offers an affordable solution with no compromise on quality, enabling implementation of standard Odoo functionalities in just 6 to 8 weeks. This offer ensures an optimal return on investment, reflecting our commitment to democratizing access to quality ERP solutions for small and medium-sized businesses. It will also enable a better alignment between our services and the Odoo partnership conditions.
  • German market: The expansion of our operations in Germany bears witness to our ambition to strengthen our presence in Europe and meet growing demand for quality Odoo solutions. The success of our project with Raumschmiede in Poland and Germany, based on the Moove WMS Stack, not only confirmed our expertise in the field, but also paved the way for our official establishment in Germany. This step continues our six-year presence in the country, and underlines our commitment to extending our reach to better serve our customers on the European continent.
  • Contributions: Our recent partnership with Swisscom is a major step forward in our quest to make a significant impact in the field of enterprise management and Open Source. This partnership illustrates the recognition of our expertise and our ability to contribute to the ecosystem. By working closely with Swisscom, we have the opportunity to reinforce our role as a major player in the Odoo community, and to further strengthen our contributions. This collaboration promises to be a catalyst enabling Camptocamp to pursue its mission of offering leading enterprise solutions to a diverse customer base.
